Polyethylene pipes are made from various grades of polyethylene. At the dawn of the “polyethylene era” in water supply, the most common “pipe” polyethylene was PE 63. But over time, PE 63 polyethylene was discontinued in almost all factories. Today, polyethylene pipes are made from PE 80, PE 100. Visually, these pipes differ in wall thickness. The pipe has a higher strength, therefore, to achieve the desired SDR, a smaller wall thickness is required and, as a result, a lower cost of the pipe.

PE 80 pipes

The SDR parameter for PE 80 pipes ranges between 9 (minimum) and 26 (maximum). SDR for PE pipes is a parameter that determines the ratio of wall thickness and pipe diameter. Among all the polyethylene pipes ever produced by the industry, PE 80 is one of the most modern, having mechanical, chemical and physical parameters that allow them to be used in areas where steel pipes previously dominated. PE 80 pipes chronologically replaced pipes of grade 63.

The outer layer is dark in color, resistant to ultraviolet radiation, is made in the form of corrugations and has ring stiffness. The inner layer is smooth and white for easy damage detection. Polyethylene pipes are made from polyethylene with a minimum long-term strength (MRS), 6.3; 8.0; 10.0 MPa.

Polyethylene pipes intended for use in drinking water supply systems must be made of grades of polyethylene approved for contact with drinking water by authorities and institutions. Polyethylene pipes for technical purposes may be manufactured using recycled materials of the same brand, incl. formed during our own production and comply with the requirements of these technical specifications.

Polyethylene pipes can be supplied in the form of kits, as well as with fittings (fittings) of various shapes and purposes. Fittings are various connecting parts of pipelines installed at the places of turns, transitions and branchings of pipe links.
